Handcrafted Floating Bed with Concealed Frame

A minimalist floating bed frame, handcrafted during personal time. Designed for visual lightness and built with hidden supports to create a clean, modern look.

This floating bed was designed and built as a personal weekend project to explore modern joinery and hidden support techniques.

The frame is constructed using high-quality timber, securely fixed to a concealed base structure that gives the illusion of weightlessness. LED lighting was added underneath the frame to enhance the floating effect, especially in low-light conditions.

Every element of the bed — from the proportion of the base to the precise mitre joints — was crafted by hand, without visible screws or hardware. The result is a clean, architectural form that appears to hover above the floor.
